HIS PEOPLE
We are God's people. This isn’t a common or simple idea. But this is the most marvelous and amazingly special title anyone in the world can have. Out of all the people in the world, God saved us by the redeeming power of His Son to make us His special people. If we are God's people, then it should be what shapes the decisions we make in our lives. The more we realize we are God's special people, the more we will give our all for His glory. Consider 1 Peter 2:9 But you are a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people for his own possession, that you may proclaim the excellencies of him who called you out of darkness into his marvelous light. HIS PLAN
By God's grace and according to His perfect plan, God has chosen His people who are to be gathering together as His Church to be the primary way that His truth is communicated. As we grow in our understanding of this individually and with our fellow believers, the more we will desire to be a part of God's plan in reaching the lost. 2 Corinthians 5:17-20 tells us, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away; behold, the new has come. 18 All this is from God, who through Christ reconciled us to himself and gave us the ministry of reconciliation; 19 that is, in Christ God was reconciling the world to himself, not counting their trespasses against them, and entrusting to us the message of reconciliation. 20 Therefore, we are ambassadors for Christ, God making his appeal through us. HIS POWER
It is solely by the grace and power of God that we have eternal life and it is also by His power that we live and serve him each day. We are grateful that God has given us His Spirit so that we can live in victory and full confidence that we can serve Him with great boldness. Ephesians 3:20 and 21 tells us,
"Now to him who is able to do far more abundantly than all that we ask or think, according to the power at work within us, 21 to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, forever and ever. Amen."
HIS PURPOSES
We are redeemed by God to fulfill His eternal purposes. These purposes are the end result of being God's people, following His plan, by His power. Three of the clearest purposes we see in scripure are that God is to be glorified in all we do, that Jesus is preeminent in all things, and that Christ's Church will stand firm.
Ephesians 3:9-12 says,"to bring to light for everyone what is the plan of the mystery hidden for ages in God, who created all things, 10 so that through the church the manifold wisdom of God might now be made known to the rulers and authorities in the heavenly places. 11 This was according to the eternal purpose that he has realized in Christ Jesus our Lord, 12 in whom we have boldness and access with confidence through our faith in him."
